WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Specialist is a non-exempt position responsible for providing homework help to youth in reading, writing, spoken English, and basic math skills, along with social and emotional skill building. The specialist utilizes the Second Step Curriculum, mindful transitions, and the mindful school curriculum, as well as support and enrichment services. Assist with homework in concurrence with the Second Step Curriculum development, and ongoing class material preparation and delivery Assist with homework in a small group format, occasionally one-on-one, in the areas of reading, writing, spoken English, and basic math skills Manage small groups, conduct lessons, and make weekly observations as they relate to pro-social behavior outcomes and motivation to learn Perform all other duties as assigned WHAT WE OFFER: $15.97 per hour Paid time off based on the number of hours worked Immediate eligibility for our 403b Savings plan with a 25% match Continuous training and professional development opportunities Mileage Reimbursement An opportunity to make the world a better place!! WHAT YOU WILL NEED: High School Diploma or equivalent Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Experience in the education field/teaching/tutoring preferred, working with youth Ability to communicate well with other stakeholders, parents, and the school system Ability to work under stressful matters Ability to lift and/or carry office supplies, files, etc., up to 25 pounds WHO WE ARE: From babies to seniors, Gulf Coast JFCS serves all people in need, regardless of race, religion, culture or gender identity.
