Development and philanthropic work are critical to not just SLCC, but higher education and many other fields. SLCC’s enriching Development Student Ambassador Program provides students from diverse fields and backgrounds the opportunity to learn about these fields through collaboration with the SLCC Development Office. This unique experience offers an insider’s look into the complexities of higher education by working alongside Development Officers in the areas of corporate and foundation relations, development, planned giving, donor relations, scholarships, advancement services and stewardship. Students gain practical knowledge and skills that enrich their social and academic experiences while honing leadership skills and building a professional network. Competitive applicants should have a willingness to engage with students, staff, and donors. They must have excellent communication skills, be adaptable to a variety of different tasks, and possess a genuine excitement about SLCC’s mission
SLCC Development Student Ambassadors play a key role in development outreach and marketing to students and the campus community. Student Ambassadors will be tasked with helping manage the SLCC Scholarships Instagram account, recruiting scholarship recipients for engagement with donors during the Annual Scholarship Luncheon, board meetings, Giving Day activities, and other events.
Other duties include administrative tasks and providing SLCC students the opportunity to engage in and help plan special events and programming.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Help co-manage the SLCC Scholarship Instagram page
Help with Development events
General admin tasks such as printing and organizing
Calling/Texting students with scholarship and event information as needed
Other duties as assigned Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications Some experience with creating social media content
Some experience with admin work
A current student at SLCC/SLTC
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience with working with either Adobe Express or Canva
Experience with working with Instagram and creating reels
Experience working as a team
Organized
