Mazda Digital Advertising Program Manager – Data & Analytics Shift Digital is the leader in digital marketing program optimization within the automotive industry. Established in 2008 and headquartered in Birmingham, Michigan, our comprehensive solutions help national brands and their local retailers measure, manage, and improve the performance of their digital marketing and sales initiatives. We are looking for a Digital Advertising Program Manager, specializing in Data & Analytics, for our Laguna Beach, CA office to support one of our OEM accounts. This person will support the Digital Advertising program, which ultimately provides media services to automotive dealerships. For this position, we are seeking someone who is capable of supporting the client with program management, reporting requests and data analysis, while also maintaining and evolving the data infrastructure and data integrity for the Digital Advertising program. The Program Manager will serve as a liaison between the client, internal teams within Shift Digital (field consultants, dealer support, delivery) and external vendors to ensure the best possible value is delivered to the client. This is a full-time position based at our Laguna Beach, CA office. The Program Manager will report to the Digital Advertising Sr. Program Manager within this account. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage Program Data: Responsible for managing all data for the program from data delivery by the vendors, data health and quality, working with respective teams (internal or vendor partners) to correct issues. Responsible for ensuring all partners maintain compliance with required data integrations and reporting requirements. Manage and/or develop processes to manage the program data. Identify opportunities to improve processes and workflows.
Analyzing Program Performance: Responsible for analyzing the program performance across various cuts – overall program, by region/district/market, by dealer, by vendor, by channel/tactic, etc. Must be able to implement systems to track progress, identify trends, and support the program and client with making data-driven decisions. Must be able to determine media campaign optimization recommendations based on performance data.
Data QA & QC: Responsible for managing and ensuring high integrity with our Data Quality Assurance and Quality Check processes. Will be responsible for managing outliers reporting, developing performance scorecards and ensuring vendor compliance with reporting requirements.
Report Development: Responsible for leading reporting initiatives for the program. Must be able to use multiple data sources to tell a comprehensive story, in an easy-to-understand manner. Reports may span from ongoing weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly reporting deliverables, to ad hoc reporting requests, to deep dive analysis.
Case Study Development: Responsible for developing case studies to showcase performance and determine or demonstrate lift of various initiatives.
Systems Thinking : Must understand how different parts of a system interact. Must be able to read technical specification documents and understand how the infrastructure impacts each other.
Business Acumen : Must be able to understand business goals and how technical projects contribute to them. Must be able to communicate complex processes to leadership or non-technical stake holders. Must be able to identify potentials risks or issues, communicate those to the team and provide solution recommendations.
Other General Responsibilities:
Support projects from beginning to final delivery to client across all lines of business within the program
Provide direction to internal Shift Digital teams (field consultants, delivery, and dealer support) based on client needs
Manage program scope and client expectations and develop contingency plans with the support of the Sr. Program Manager and Director
Manage program status including milestone tracking, budget, allocation, and open issues with the support of the Sr. Program Manager and Director
Proactively support QA activities on program solutions to be delivered to the client
Provide in-depth analytical analysis of performance of products and services using tools provided
Manage requirement gathering, project plans, program development and delivery of new features or functions with the support of the Sr. Program Manager and Director
Support the roll out of opportunities for growth and/or new programs
Support dealer billing, effectively coordinating with billing teams, external vendor teams, dealer support, and dealers.
Effectively contribute to regular status meetings with client on relevant program topics, including day-to-day tactics and longer-term objectives
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 3+ years of Account Management and Digital Marketing experience, preferably within the Automotive Industry
Candidates need a solid understanding of the media landscape from a Tier 3/Dealership perspective, including media run on Google Ads and Meta. Knowledge of TradeDesk is preferred.
Strong analytical and data skills are critical
Website integration / backend experience – working with APIs, Wordpress, plug-ins
Experience with backend technology – working with data layers and understanding how different parts of a system interact
Experience creating reports using large data sets – Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI/Tableau
Other Preferred Skills:

Program management skills necessary to manage numerous projects while tracking progress against KPIs and time to completion
Client management skills – interfacing with the client directly, relationship building, issue management, expectation setting, etc.

Desire to own success of projects
Understanding of Shift Digital product set is preferred
Bachelors Degree

Some of these factors include, but are not limited to: skill set, location, years of experience, licenses, certifications, and business/organizational needs. The following compensation range is specific to New York City, Colorado, Nevada, California, and Washington residents only . While we do provide an estimated salary range, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top range for their role. A reasonable estimate for this role is: $75,000 - $95,000.
