Job Description

As the Sheet Metal Shift Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the fabrication and installation of sheet metal products for roofing projects. Your expertise in sheet metal fabrication, team leadership, and quality assurance will be essential in ensuring the successful completion of projects and the high-quality output of our sheet metal team.

Responsibilities

  1. Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and enforce quality control measures to maintain the highest standard of workmanship in sheet metal fabrication and installation.
    • Conduct inspections and tests to verify that sheet metal products and installations conform to project requirements.
    • Address any issues or defects promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary.
    • Monitor the progress of sheet metal fabrication and installation, ensuring timelines are met.

  2. Material Management:
    • Oversee the proper handling and storage of sheet metal materials to prevent damage and waste.
    • Optimize material usage to minimize waste and reduce costs.

  3. Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all sheet metal operators adhere to safety regulations and best practices.

  4. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and timely completion.

  5. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of sheet metal fabrication and installation activities, including work progress and material usage.

  6. Additional Responsibilities:
    • Handle additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or vocational training in sheet metal fabrication is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and installation.
  • Proficient in sheet metal fabrication techniques, equipment, and tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Solid understanding of quality control principles in sheet metal work.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards in a construction environment.
