Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Certificate from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or 2 years of college credit. License/Certification Required: Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP). Preferred: Current Certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Current Intravenous Medication Certification (IV-Sterile Products) approved by the Accreditation Counsel for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Experience Required: Two years pharmacy technician experience in a hospital, infusion center, or retail pharmacy. Preferred: Experience in hazardous sterile compounding, high risk sterile compounding, nonsterile compounding, inventory management, and Pharmacy employee training. Experience in OR, critical care, pediatrics, ordering/receiving medications, and controlled substances. This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening.
