The Role
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Manager of Technical Product Marketing to join our elite Marketing team at Lumen. This role demands a highly skilled professional capable of performing consultant-level work that is both complex and strategic, spanning across multiple functions including Marketing, Sales, and Product Marketing. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Product Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our Security and Vyvx portfolio.

The Main Responsibilities
Strategic Technical Product Marketing Leadership: Develop and execute innovative technical marketing strategies and solutions to drive usage and deployment of Security and Media and Entertainment Solutions.
Compelling Technical Positioning: Craft powerful value propositions and messaging that deeply resonate with technical audiences, setting our products and solutions apart in the market.
Team Leadership and Mentorship: Inspire and mentor product marketing leaders, ensuring cohesive alignment on product and solution messaging and positioning and understanding of technical capabilities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Forge strong partnerships with product, engineering, sales engineering, customer service, and product marketing departments to support and enhance product strategy.
Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, informing future product direction.
Content Development: Create and manage technical marketing assets such as whitepapers, solution briefs, technical blogs, webinars, videos, and product demos focused on cybersecurity solutions.
Sales Enablement: Develop technical sales tools including battle cards, ROI calculators, and technical FAQs to empower sales and channel teams.
Technical Training and Support: Provide technical training and support to the sales team and other internal stakeholders to ensure they are well-equipped to communicate the value of our products to customers. Act as an SME to marketing teams and guide strategy discussions, support customer engagement and conversations, respond to technical inquiries, and participate in customer meetings as required.
Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with stakeholders, gathering valuable insights to support and refine product strategy.
What We Look For in a Candidate
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience: 8+ years of distinguished experience in technical marketing, product management, or technical pre-sales roles, preferably in the cybersecurity industry.
Strong understanding of security technologies such as SIEM, XDR, endpoint protection, cloud security, identity & access management, and threat intelligence.
Technical Skills: Proficient in translating technical concepts into clear and engaging marketing content. Strong technical understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and infrastructure. Proficiency in creating technical documentation and marketing materials.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of professionals, driving excellence and innovation.
Strategic Vision: Exceptional strategic thinking capabilities, with a proven track record of developing and implementing comprehensive technical strategies.
Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market trends and data to inform and shape marketing strategies.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
