Job Summary The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is looking for a highly skilled Senior Cloud Solutions Architect (PCA) to enhance our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with customers to grasp their technical requirements and business goals, designing and implementing customized cloud solutions that drive results. As a key contributor in the pre-sales process, your technical expertise will guide customers throughout their cloud journey. You will lead the development of solution designs to meet customer business outcomes (CBO), ensuring that proposed solutions are not only realistic and achievable but also optimize ProServe and our partners to maximize results. You will be recognized as a trusted advisor, providing insights on industry trends and innovative technologies that can solve complex customer challenges. Your substantial experience in crafting technical solutions within the technology and consulting sector will empower you to architect complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to customer needs, translating intricate technical concepts into tangible business value. Your success will directly impact the signing of Statements of Work (SOWs) and the successful implementation of solutions that not only achieve CBOs but also exceed customer satisfaction (CSAT) expectations. The AWS Professional Services organization comprises a global team of experts committed to helping customers realize their business objectives using the AWS Cloud. We collaborate with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to drive enterprise cloud computing initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Design complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions to deliver customer business outcomes (CBOs). Provide technical guidance and best practices during pre-sales and implementation phases. Work closely with Account Executives and Shared Delivery Teams to ensure that proposed solutions are practical and achievable. Act as a trusted advisor to customers regarding industry trends and emerging technologies. Share knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts. Basic Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, including designing and implementing cloud solutions. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience. Delivered a minimum of 3 enterprise solutions serving over 10,000 users in retail, CPG, or restaurant industries in the last 5 years. Led the technical implementation of at least 3 retail platforms processing over 50,000 daily transactions across e-commerce, POS, and supply chain systems. Led 3+ enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives engaging with C-level stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced technology degree or AWS Professional level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional). Deep understanding of AWS services across compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies. Knowledge of security and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR). Expertise in performance optimization and cost management for cloud environments. Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. History of thought leadership contributions in the industry (e.g., speaking engagements, whitepapers, patents). Experience in developing industry-first solutions leveraging emerging technologies (AI/ML, IoT, AR/VR) in retail/CPG environments. Our compensation reflects labor costs across varied US markets, with a base pay ranging from $164,500/year to $284,300/year depending on market location and job-related expertise.
