Overview Senior Associate, New Verticals - Retail Strategy & Operations at DoorDash. This role is part of the Strategy & Operations team and will partner on end-to-end initiatives that impact the consumer shopper experience within the retail platform. You will launch new product features, run operational experiments and analyze data to improve in-app experiences in partnership with other people on Strategy & Operations, product, engineering and more. The New Verticals team is building the future of local commerce through expanding our product offerings on our marketplace platform. We launched in 2020 and have built world-class operations to delight our customers with access to Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol, and Retail delivery through our marketplace; this team is shaping the future of DoorDash Retail and how we empower local economies across industries like pets, flowers, home improvement and so much more. We operate in a hybrid model and spend a few days a month in person together. You will report into a vertical lead on our Retail Strategy & Operations team and be an individual contributor.
You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will… Strategize. From first principles, you’ll develop the optimal strategy for best serving our customers and merchants.
Operate. Own tracking dashboards and manage week over week metrics to track new merchant launches, consumer acquisition, quality metrics and more.
Analyze. Build models using Excel and SQL to evaluate the economic, operational and strategic costs and benefits of various programs and experiments.
Experiment. You’ll transform strategies into operational experiments that create measurable and actionable outcomes.
Build. You’ll have your fingerprints all over DoorDash’s next big business, launching new products and scaling something completely new—from high-level strategy to operational details.
Lead, collaborate and influence. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams including growth, quality, design, marketing, partnerships and product to build and scale the Grocery business.
Qualifications You have 2-4+ years of experience in similar analytical and cross-functional cultures (tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, or related).
You are an owner. You're always looking for opportunities to better your work product and own the outcome – both the good and the bad.
You're entrepreneurial. You have a bias for action and are able to build things from the ground up.
You're analytical. You let data win arguments, and you’re comfortable pulling your own data in SQL and building models in Excel.
You’re equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you’re just as comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team.
You’re unafraid of ambiguity. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you thrive in ambiguous, startup environments.
You have a completed Bachelor’s Degree.
Work Model We operate in a hybrid model and spend a few days a month in person together. You will report into a vertical lead on our Retail Strategy & Operations team and be an individual contributor.
Compensation The national base pay range for this position within the United States is $78,200—$115,000 USD; base salary is localized according to work location. Range is market-dependent and may be modified in the future. In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Paid Time Off Details For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
For hourly roles: vacation accrues at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked, and paid sick time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
