Streetsense seeks a highly motivated Senior Analyst & Strategist: Retail + Real Estate to join our interdisciplinary Place Consulting team. This hybrid role combines strategic and creative visioning with rigorous market analysis to shape dynamic places and vibrant communities. With a focus on retail-anchored, place-based mixed-use development , downtown revitalization, and public realm activation, the ideal candidate blends analytical rigor with storytelling and placemaking.
The candidate should possess a deep understanding of real estate fundamentals-particularly retail and F&B-and demonstrate fluency in both quantitative research and creative strategy. This position requires intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, a passion for real estate and community building, and the ability to tell compelling stories through data and design.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research & Analytics
Conduct quantitative and qualitative research across multiple asset classes including retail, multifamily, office, and hospitality. Evaluate real estate market fundamentals, consumer behavior, audience dynamics, and competitive landscapes. Strategy & Storytelling Develop real estate strategies and retail merchandising plans aligned with market dynamics and client objectives. Identify and articulate opportunities for differentiation through ground plane activation, including retail, food & beverage, cultural uses, and experiential programming. Create, in collaboration with Streetsense graphic design team, image-rich, investor-facing deliverables that combine strong professional-level writing, visual storytelling, and sound financial logic. Client Engagement & Project Delivery Lead client engagements and work collaboratively across internal disciplines and with subject matter experts in the fields of including Urban Design, Branding, and Interior Architecture. Present findings and strategies to clients and stakeholders in compelling and accessible formats. Operations & Business Development Contribute to the development of proposals, pitch decks, and thought leadership initiatives. Support project management and track project and team performance using internal systems like Deltek and Slack. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Economics, Real Estate, or related field 5-10 years of experience in real estate research, development, planning, brokerage, or consulting Strong Excel skills (including use of macros), Google Sheets, and familiarity with GIS and real estate data sources High proficiency in PowerPoint and ideally Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) Exceptional writing and communication skills-able to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights Strong graphic sensibility and an eye for presentation and design Ability to independently conduct market tours, identify on-the-ground opportunities, and synthesize learnings Experience working with or within real estate development firms, particularly those focused on mixed-use and retail Willingness to travel frequently for client site visits (including overnight) Ideal Candidate Attributes Analytical thinker and creative problem solver Confident communicator and client presenter Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment Passionate about urbanism, retail, hospitality, placemaking, and people-centered design Detail-oriented, highly organized, and quality-driven Globalist who is in tune with retail and consumerism
