Senior 3PL Night Shift Operations Manager

We are seeking a Full-time Senior 3PL Operations Manager for the Night Shift Management Team from 5:30pm-until the night shift operations are done (4:00am-5:00am approximately) , with flexibility to come in early, stay late, or work occasional on a weekend as needed during busy season.
Position Overview: We are looking for a candidate with proven experience of a minimum of 5 years’ working in 3rd Party Logistics/Warehousing Management/Transportation and Personnel Management.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a high level of accuracy in managing logistics operations, reporting, and personnel management. This position also requires frequent work and meetings in the warehouse and a successful candidate must be comfortable working in this environment.
This is a direct hire position with benefits after an initial 90 days waiting period, that includes paid sick/personal days, paid vacation days, paid holidays, health insurance (medical, prescription, dental, vision), life insurance, and 401K plan with Company’s match.
Salary will be based on experience and qualifications up to $125.000K/year. Candidate must complete an employment application and will be subject to a drug/alcohol screening and background investigation (past employment verifications, education, and criminal history).
Responsibilities: The Senior 3PL Operations Manager will drive continuous process of improvement in Western’s night shift warehouses operations and management/administrative functions, while maintaining the company’s focus on customer service, quality, and creating a safe and comfortable work environment.
Specific duties include but will not be limited to:
Overseeing the entire night shift operations at different warehouse locations; and analyzing existing logistics performance metrics to identify areas of improvement.
Work closely with our warehouse staff and warehouse management to motivate them and maintain a productive night shift team effectively.
Support and mentor existing and new warehouse team leaders, supervisors, and managers.
Assist with proper documentation when it comes to employees’ ongoing issues/situations related to their attendance/poor performance/productivity/personal conduct/overall attitude.
Supporting management and Human Resources Department with completing all internals forms, warning reports, personal injury reports, property damage reports, employees’ change forms and more.
Identify opportunities for improvement based on customer requirements, and analysis of activity and inventory data. Tracking/monitoring and analyzing KPIs.
Analyze and support the existing warehouse material handling software/procedures, and lead on new software automation, and storage solutions to improve the logistics processes.
Develop and implement logistics strategics to optimize our night shift warehouse operations.
Prepare reports for Senior Executives/Upper Management on Logistics performance and challenges.
Available to collaborate and meet frequently with internal teams and other warehouse managers to align the night shift operations with the Company’s goals.
Understand our customers and operations context; generate broad support for new solutions to ensure success; implement, train, and support operational personnel.
Ensure a safe working environment, enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain compliance with industry regulations, transportation regulations, OSHA regulations and all safety standards.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Logistics Management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree is preferred, in a related field of Supply Chain Management/Logistics Operations Management, or Business Administration.
Proven experience of a minimum of 5 years’ working in 3rd Party Logistics/Warehousing Management/Transportation and Personnel Management.
Prior experience with bonded warehouses will be a plus.
Ability to successfully work with people at all levels of an organization.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
Experienced with training and mentoring new warehouse team leaders, supervisors, and managers.
Strong quantitative, analytical, and reporting skills.
Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and excellent follow-up abilities.
Competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.). With extensive expertise in Excel.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (FR scanning/voice picking).
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Great ability to work well independently and form judgments with little guidance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bilingual in Spanish ( Preferred ).
Must have own transportation for commuting purposes.
