We are seeking a Seasonal Retail Associate that will provide excellent customer service, assist with product sales, and help maintain a welcoming store environment. Responsibilities: Customer Service: Greet guests warmly as they enter the store and offer assistance with their floral, plant, and gift purchases. Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, offering recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Attempt to "up-sell" and suggest "add-ons" with every purchase to increase sales. Sales and Point of Sale (POS): Ring up customer purchases accurately on the computerized point of sale (POS) system. Process cash, credit card, and check payments efficiently, ensuring correct change for cash transactions. Answer phones, take orders, and enter them into the POS system accurately. Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of all products offered for sale, including floral arrangements, plants, and gifts. Inform customers about store promotions, discounts, and new products. Assist with product selection based on customer needs and preferences. Store Maintenance and Merchandising: Set up and maintain attractive product displays and "show" at opening and closing. Follow merchandising plans and ensure that displays are well-maintained and visually appealing. Keep the sales floor, cooler, and displays clean and organized throughout the day. Assist in cleaning and maintaining all other areas of the store, including bathrooms. Team Collaboration and Administrative Duties: Assist teammates in maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Perform cash register balance checks and run all "end of day" reports as required. Complete any additional tasks assigned by supervisors or managers. Compliance and Standards: Follow "Uniform and Appearance Standards" as stated in the 1-800-FLOWERS Operations Manual. Adhere to all store policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure a consistent and professional customer experience. The expected pay rate for this position is $17.00/hour. The actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by the law. Requirements: Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and helpful attitude. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Basic math skills and experience handling cash, credit card, and check transactions. Ability to maintain a clean and organized store environment.
