Job Description The Sales Manager ensures the dealership meets its sales quotas and gross objectives daily, monthly, and yearly. S/he will ensure that retail and fleet units sold generate sufficient gross profit to meet the dealership's profit goals, through planning, organizing, coordinating, and measuring activities of the New- and Used-vehicle Sales Departments. Duties and Responsibilities: Make monthly projections of vehicle requirements for the upcoming 90 days. Determine monthly and yearly forecasts for unit sales, gross profit, and departmental profits. Forecast with each salesperson to set objectives for customer volume, closing percentages, prospecting efforts, unit sales, and income. Recommend procedures for advertising, sales promotions, staffing, lease promotions, compensation, customer service, and vehicle rentals. Prepare and submit a weekly sales plan to the Dealer. Meet daily with salespeople to review results and plans. Conduct sales meetings. Coordinate pre-delivery with the Service Manager. Provide on-the-job training for sales staff. Ensure adherence to prospecting programs for optimal results. Review monthly sales and profit reports with the Dealer and staff. Maintain balanced vehicle inventory and develop programs to move aged inventory. Ensure proper display, merchandising, and vehicle presentation standards. Personalize thank-yous to prospects. Monitor demonstrator vehicle condition monthly. Track floor traffic accurately. Implement factory standards to achieve 100% customer satisfaction. Conduct safety training and hazard assessments regularly. Ensure safety policies are followed and accidents are reported immediately. Operate vehicles safely and maintain insurability. Read and understand instructions and information. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Have at least two years of automotive sales experience and one year in management. Be authorized to work in the USA and pass pre-employment testing, including background checks and drug tests.
