Job Summary:
Performs detailed audits of medical records to ensure that all charges are captured correctly and to help improve the financial performance of the business units. Provides nursing care expertise in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision-making skills.
Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred Clinical experience with medication records and clinical documentation: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required Essential Functions: Utilizes clinical and coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant charge items and to recognize and resolve billing inconsistencies. Identifies, investigates, and corrects any issues that prevent optimal and compliant billing. Prepares and submits any corrections to patients' accounts such as late or lost charges, credits, or billing adjustments. Provides departmental charge capture reviews.
