Join our dynamic team as a Retail Team Member! In this role, you'll play a vital part in creating an outstanding shopping experience for our customers. You'll be responsible for merchandising, stocking products, operating the cash register, and ensuring the store maintains its cleanliness and appeal. Position Type: Full-Time Average Hours: 32-40 hours per week Starting Wage: $18.00 per hour Wage Increases: Year 2 - $18.50 | Year 3 - $19.00 | Year 4 - $19.00 | Year 5 - $20.00 Note: This position will train at a nearby store until the new store opens. Duties and Responsibilities: You will consistently demonstrate the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) as outlined for the role. - Process customer purchases and maintain cleanliness in the store. - Stock shelves and merchandise displays with care and attention to detail. - Deliver exceptional customer service, assisting shoppers to ensure a pleasant experience. - Collaborate with teammates and communicate effectively with store management. - Provide valuable feedback on products, inventory losses, and errors to management. - Participate in inventory counts and monitor stock levels for accuracy. - Follow cash handling procedures to prevent losses. - Comply with all company policies while protecting the confidentiality of documents and data. - Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: - Ability to stock merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds at various heights. - Regularly engaged in sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking throughout the store. - Must be able to perform these tasks with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications: - Must be 18 years or older. - Capability to deliver prompt and courteous customer service. - Proficient in operating a cash register accurately. - Ability to handle equipment such as hand jacks and floor scrubbers safely. - Competence in performing cleaning duties to company standards. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. - Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Must meet state and local requirements for handling alcoholic beverages. Education and Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. - Prior retail experience preferred. - A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
