The Role
The Retail Supervisor assists in managing a 7-day operation for both the FD Market, FD Cafeteria and Transportation Food Kiosk. The Supervisor provides Leadership, Accountability and Operational Excellence for both departments according to specific NYSDOH and FD policies and procedures ensuring the highest-level quality of product and service provided by and to our associates while supporting the goals and objectives of the company.
What You'll Do
• Supervise & coordinate order fulfillment, processing and production requirements for all market products and food production and resolve problems within span of control to the standards set by the company.
• Manage staff schedule in accordance to budget and/or business needs and to ensure the highest level of productivity.
• Guide, Direct and Motivate staff around performance management and labor planning.
• Ensure excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns-relay relevant information to your manager.
• Identify and train talent for the department including coaching, training, and needed material to accomplish that.
• Constantly champion quality-focused manufacturing and market processes by Identifying areas of improvement, implementing new processes and documenting them accordingly with the partnership of Mgmt.
• Inspect and ensure follow-through and compliance with: Food Safety and Employee Safety compliances and FD's policies around quality, Maintain clean, safe and organized work environment.
• Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, employee hours, and other operational metrics. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, or monthly reports on performance, sales, and staffing.
• Resolve employee grievances and concerns and escalates to Manager when needed, will also partner with HR on high level investigations.
• Oversee proper usage of all equipment and machinery used including safety, PM's. Report all issues immediately.
• Ability to follow and enforce security and safety regulations and that line staff follow safety regulations. Reports all issues that occur daily to the appropriate manager in a timely manner.
• Support and participate in various company projects, initiatives and programs as needed
What You Bring
• High School diploma/ and or equivalent and demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities through previous work experience and education
• 2 plus years of retail food sales and service in a supervisory or team lead position required
• Previous retail food sales and operations a must
• English Required Bilingual preferred in English and Spanish.
• NYC Food Protection Certificate or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong Quality Control and Process Skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Knowledge of production and/or POS systems software and ability to learn tasks related to work in SAP.
• Effective time management and prioritization skills, multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to lead, train and develop a team.
• Strong communication skills both written and oral with staff, peers and senior management.
• Ability to delegate/execute precise instructions and follow-up with cross-departmental communications.
• Knowledge of retail food sales and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
• Knowledge of department production processes, materials and production techniques.
• Principles and procedures of interviewing, selection and training techniques.
• Active Learning, Listening Skills and Critical Thinking Skills to find effective solutions for problems that arise.
• Ability to manage, motivate and lead during periods of change and disruption.
• Ability to counsel and discipline in a positive 'change behavior" atmosphere.
• Food product, sanitation, GMP's, food safety knowledge and HACCP a plus.
• Able to work a flexible schedule/ Cover various shift.
• Work in a cold environment.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.
Salary range - $64,3500- $70,820
