Job Summary:
The Retail Strategic Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and success of the Inside Sales team with the purpose of providing Legendary Customer Service while increasing sales of parts and service solutions. This role trains staff, allocates physical and financial resources, and manages the operational sales processes in alignment with HOLT’s overall sales strategies to ensure financial targets are met.
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.
Essential Functions:
Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
Model, promote, reinforce, and recognize the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
Conducts regular coaching sessions to Inside Sales Representatives (ISR) focused on sales process, product knowledge, and customer care
Executes sales strategies focused on parts, service, undercarriage, fluids, and CVAs
Owns and tracks ISR KPls such as prospecting leads, CVA enrollment, & competition engagement
Supports HOLT's strategic push for CVA adoption, PM programs, and service work sold
Ensures consistent use of CRM (Saleslink/CRM platforms) for activity tracking, lead management, and reporting
Leads ISR team participation in sales campaigns and ensure timely lead follow-up
Collaborates with sales operations to maintain data accuracy and improve efficiency
Works closely with PSSMs Service Operations Managers, and Parts leadership to align on customer priorities
Ensures ISR team supports field teams with quotes, follow-ups, and customer insights
Participates in planning meetings to align ISR activity with broader territory goals
Oversees proactive outbound efforts to re-engage dormant customers and promote PCC/CAT Tool engagement
Helps uphold HOLT CAT's reputation for exceptional support and long-term customer partnerships
Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of applicable products and services in addition to accounting principles, budget preparation, and business acumen
Strong management skills to direct, coach, and sales team to increase revenues using sales tools, techniques, and market information
Computer skills and demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Interpersonal skills sufficient to engage with vendors, own staff, and corporate executives to exchange information, influence and persuade
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills
Exceptional planning, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
Driven and results oriented; business development, KPIs, and market expansion to meet corporate targets
Ability to operate a variety of communications equipment and information transmitting devices
Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations
Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately
The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Consulting and influencing abilities
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Administration, Sales, or related field preferred
Minimum of five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required
One or more years in a leadership role required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel:
Up to 10% travel required
Valid driver’s license required

Occasionally moves or transports items weighing up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment:
This job is generally performed in a professional office environment, in environmentally controlled conditions and outdoor conditions on jobsites
Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
