POSITION: Retail Store Services Coordinator SUPERVISOR: Retail Manager STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt
PAY RANGE: $22.00 - $26.00 Hourly The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Retail Store Services Coordinator position provides customer service support to retail store donors and Extra Helpings agencies. This position will assist with the recruitment, evaluation, enrollment, orientation, and monitoring of existing and new retail donors and Extra Helpings agencies. This position will also provide guidelines to agencies regarding the storage and distribution of food, record-keeping practices, and maintenance of standards. This position will require visiting retail stores on a rotating basis, attending meetings, and conducting presentations. This position will also monitor agencies, complete monthly and quarterly reports for donors, Feeding America, and internal directors. This position will correspond with internal and external parties regularly.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Customer Service: Provides in-house and on-site technical assistance to prospective and participating agencies to include, but not limited to, the following: transportation, storage, and distribution of food picked up from retail store donors, proper maintenance of food distribution and food recipient records, and use of MealConnect platform. Matches Extra Helpings agencies with retail store donors including Food Drive donors. Answers telephone calls from retail stores and coordinates pick-ups. Assists/attends departmental activities such as the All Agencies Conference and other meetings as directed by the supervisor. Travels to (using personal vehicle) various retail store donors throughout Los Angeles County to solicit Extra Helpings donations. Works effectively with other staff members at all levels of responsibility within the Food Bank.
Site Monitoring and Reports: Travels to (using personal vehicle) various agency sites throughout Los Angeles County to monitor prospective and participating agencies according to established guidelines. Maintains MealConnect database, Ceres database, data entry, and other administrative functions as required. Prepares reports, including tracking of agency and donor participation. Prepares monthly Extra Helpings donor reports and other reports as needed.
Flexibility and Adaptability: Must be able to work Monday–Friday from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. Ability to work extended hours/over-time as needed as well as some Saturdays. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS 2+ years of experience in customer service, or warehouse experience working with grocery retail stores.
An associate’s degree and/or vocational training is desirable
Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desired.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office – emphasis on Excel).
Great interpersonal, written, and oral communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds.
Ability to compose and/or edit business correspondence, ensuring well-prepared memos and documents convey accurate meaning before distribution.
Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks with solid deadlines.
Experience with social service organizations.
Experience presenting to large groups.
Desire to work in non-profit or social service settings is highly preferred.
May be scheduled to work Saturdays, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
Possess a valid California Driver’s License and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle. Must be able to travel within Los Angeles County as required. Work assignments may include various facilities and hubs across Los Angeles County, including locations in Los Angeles and the City of Industry, CA. Flexibility to commute between Food Bank facilities as needed is essential.
