Overview Vaer is opening its first flagship showroom on Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice, California. This location will serve as both a customer-facing retail space and a working headquarters for the Vaer team. Unlike a traditional storefront, the flagship will operate primarily as an appointment-based showroom for clients to experience Vaer watches in person, with limited walk-in availability. Beyond retail, the space will also serve as a creative hub, hosting community events, media productions, and product launches. We are seeking a driven, brand-focused leader who can manage the day-to-day operations of the showroom while also spearheading Vaer's local presence in Los Angeles. This is a rare opportunity to join at a foundational stage and help shape how the brand comes to life in a physical space. ________________________________ Role Summary The Store & Community Manager will be the face of Vaer on Abbot Kinney. You'll be responsible for creating a premium, one-on-one client experience in the showroom, overseeing operational logistics, and ensuring the space reflects the identity of the brand. At the same time, you'll play a key role in building community - forging partnerships, hosting events, and activating the showroom as a hub for local culture. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial, detail-oriented individual passionate about craftsmanship, the outdoor lifestyle, and design-driven brands. ________________________________ Key Responsibilities Store Leadership Oversee all daily operations of the Abbot Kinney showroom. Manage appointment scheduling, walk-in inquiries, and calendar coordination. Maintain accurate watch and accessory inventory, working closely with HQ on restock and special orders. Ensure merchandising, signage, and displays uphold Vaer's brand standards. Client Experience Deliver a consultative, appointment-based sales experience that emphasizes storytelling, product education, and long-term client relationships. Host VIP and private shopping experiences for collectors, repeat customers, and media partners. Actively follow up with clients post-visit, driving revenue through personalized engagement and clienteling strategies. Community Engagement Represent Vaer in the Venice/Los Angeles community as a connector and advocate for the brand. Build partnerships with local surf shops, outdoor groups, watch clubs, and lifestyle businesses. Act as a cultural ambassador, ensuring the showroom is known as a destination for more than just retail. Event Management Plan and execute in-store events: new product unveilings, collector gatherings, seasonal showcases. Coordinate community activations: surf meetups, outdoor workshops, or collaborations with local artisans. Operational Support Serve as the day-to-day liaison between showroom operations and HQ leadership. Assist with logistics for photo/video shoots, press visits, and collaborative projects hosted in the space. Track store-level performance metrics and share insights to guide company strategy. ________________________________ Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in customer-facing retail, hospitality, or client relations. Strong communication skills with proven ability to build long-term relationships. Highly organized, able to manage scheduling, event planning, and operations simultaneously. Entrepreneurial and proactive, with a comfort level in a dynamic, startup-like environment. Passion for watches, outdoor lifestyle, surfing or craftsmanship-focused brands is a major plus. ________________________________ Compensation & Growth Salary range: $55,000 - $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
