We are looking to hire a passionate store manager for our Jackson Hole, WY retail store. As this is a retail position, the store manager must be available to work weekends and holiday shifts.

This position is responsible for the daily operation of Black Diamond's Jackson, WY store; ensuring excellent customer service is provided by a well-trained, highly motivated, personable staff. This individual will be responsible for assisting in merchandising, inventory control, compiling sales data, and monitoring trends. It is expected that the Retail Store Manager will be on-site and oversee employee-customer interactions, serving as a salesperson as required.
Responsibilities:
Authorized and responsible for continuously improving upon and performing all duties according to BDEL Quality, Safety and Employee Policies and procedures:
- Responsible for and authorized to assist with all functions relating to the management of the retail store to achieve profit objectives including hiring, training, and motivating staff to provide excellent customer service, establishing daily sales quotas for the sales team and store, periodically reviewing, recognizing accomplishments, reporting, and events.
- Understand and utilize the process for creating and placing special orders for customers.
- Creating sales/marketing strategies, promotions, advertising, and merchandising programs.
- Responsible for and authorized to ensure proper repair, maintenance, and upkeep of facility; keep Facilities Manager aware of requirements and needs.
- Responsible for communicating directly with customers as needed, resolving problems, and spending a portion of time on the sales floor actively selling.
- Expected to maintain the safety of the staff and store, including responding to alarm calls and making certain the store is secure.
- Authorized to assist company employees with access to employee discount programs.
- Responsible for the overview of the store's budget & P&L reviews each month.
- Accountable to company marketing directives and execution of floor plans and guidelines
- Represent your store at all required meetings, conferences, and events under the direction of Director of Retail.
- Ensure strategic goals and sales targets of the store are met by maximizing sales and gross profit, reviewing sales performance, controlling expenses, and managing inventory responsible for the store's P&L and profit/contribution targets.
- Perform administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of all store operations, including the timely submission of all paperwork, preparing and submitting reports, and monitoring sales receipts and cash.
- Monitor stock and inventory and perform quality assurance of merchandise on a regular basis - Execute and follow-up on all loss prevention countermeasures including, but not limited to, shrink derived from paperwork errors, internal theft, and external theft.
- Perform and complete other additional projects, duties, and assignments as required by your leadership team.

Requirements
Education:
Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Sales/Merchandising, Business or other related field.
Work Experience:
Required: Previous retail management experience with high volume, and customer service/sales.
Preferred: 3 - 5 years retail store management experience in outdoor equipment industry.
Skills and general experience: Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles. Performs complex tasks typically following established processes. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions. Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures but may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change.
