Job Summary
As a PetSmart Retail Store Leader, you will be responsible for the safety of pets and people, overseeing store operations, and ensuring an outstanding experience for pet parents. Your leadership will play a critical role in upholding our brand values and strategies, driving our mission forward every day.
Essential Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
People Leadership: Make vital employment decisions, foster a positive work environment, support associate development through training and succession planning, and communicate effectively with your team.
Overall Store Experience: Ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere for both pets and pet parents, maintain high store standards, and lead community engagement events.
Business Management: Drive profitability and corporate strategy, analyze business performance, manage expenses effectively, and lead scheduling and payroll processes.
Qualifications
4-6 years of retail leadership or customer-focused experience required.
Must be available full-time, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Strong computer skills and verbal/written communication abilities.
Ability to maintain composure under pressure and pay close attention to detail.
Supervisory Responsibility
Oversee a diverse team, including Experience and Process Leaders, numerous lead associates, and many non-leader associates while ensuring alignment with company policies.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to stand, walk, climb, lift, and handle pets in various environments, occasionally lifting heavy objects and handling various tasks.
Potential exposure to noise, animals, and mechanical parts; reasonable accommodations will be available for individuals with disabilities.
