Retail Security Officer
This position requires the employee to stand or walk while on duty, as it is situated within a retail store environment.
As a Retail Security Officer, your primary responsibility will involve actively monitoring and patrolling assigned areas within the store to deter and prevent theft. You will be attentive to all activities, observing customer behavior and staff interactions to identify any suspicious actions. Maintaining clear and ongoing communication with the manager on duty is crucial, as this will facilitate immediate reporting of any unusual occurrences or potential security threats.
You will also be charged with implementing effective loss prevention strategies and procedures. This includes educating staff about security protocols, conducting regular training sessions, and ensuring that all security measures are adhered to in order to minimize risks and losses.
Additionally, this role requires you to monitor and respond promptly to security alarms, investigating any alerts to pinpoint potential theft or unauthorized access. Providing exemplary customer service is integral to this position; you will assist customers with inquiries or concerns, helping to create a positive shopping environment while remaining vigilant about security. Your ability to balance these duties will contribute significantly to the overall safety and integrity of the retail operations.
Qualifications: Must possess previous retail security experience Strong knowledge of loss prevention procedures and protocols Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and conflict management Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally Attention to detail and strong observation skills Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Responsibilities: Always maintain a professional, courteous, and respectful manner. Monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to deter theft Communicate constantly with the manager on duty regarding any suspicious activity Implement loss prevention strategies and procedures to minimize risk Monitor and respond to alarms to detect potential theft Be aware of all emergency exits located within the store in case an evacuation is necessary. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with inquiries or concerns. Location: Multiple Retail Clients within Center City, PA
Schedule: 1st, 2nd and Per Diem ( These are based on store hours and location ) Start times as early as 0900 hours and end times as late as 2200 hours
Employment Type: Full-time, Part-time and Floating
Compensation: $15.50 - $18.00 (rates are based on location assignment)
