GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Retail Sales Representative serves as a vital contact for our customers. Responsibilities include helping customers locate products, managing cash register operations, stocking shelves, and maintaining store cleanliness, all while supporting the Store Manager in enhancing store profitability and customer satisfaction.
DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Deliver exceptional customer service, warmly greeting and assisting shoppers.
Effectively operate the cash register and scanner to process customer purchases, manage payments, and package items.
Adhere to company processes for handling merchandise, including unpacking, stocking, and creating merchandise displays.
Maintain cleanliness in the store, including trash removal, floor cleaning, restroom sanitation, and setting up sidewalk displays.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication abilities.
Understanding of safety policies and practices.
Capability to read and follow merchandise presentation guidelines.
Familiarity with basic cash handling procedures.
Basic math skills.
Ability to effectively perform cash register functions.
Competency in stocking merchandise.
WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Regular walking and standing.
Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to operate checkout, stock items, and unload trucks; may require pushing and pulling rolltainers.
Handling merchandise with tools such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, and two-wheel dollies.
Regular lifting of items up to 40 pounds; occasionally up to 55 pounds.
Occasional climbing using a step ladder up to 6 feet high.
Fast-paced environment with a moderate noise level.
Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
