Summary: Primary responsibilities include controlling and monitoring overall store inventory and ensuring that all council financial and merchandising standards are maintained and enforced. Assist in providing superior customer service and driving sales and margin in alignment with the financial plan of the retail store and council.

Essential Functions :
Provide an overall vision of the retail shop, both brick and mortar and e-commerce site, including innovation regarding inventory on hand, visual look of retail store and e-commerce site, and maintaining a business plan.
Purchase and manage all stock inventory for Council Shop items and ecommerce site, including placing orders with GSUSA and outside vendors, following Girl Scout Merchandise standards.
Responsible for maintaining accurate store inventory and conducting bi-annual physical inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
Supervise the fulfillment of all customer orders sold through the Council Shop and e-commerce site.
Supervise Assistant Retail Manager.
Supervise e-commerce sales and orders fulfilled by Assistant Retail Manager.
Collaborate with program and membership departments to ensure inventory stocked meets the needs of Council members and can provide effective programs.
Develop and maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required, i.e., daily cash reports, income summaries, etc. in a timely manner.
Manage the creation of GSACPC retail products unique to this Council.
Maintain a creative and ever-expanding display of merchandise (and inventory) to attract all Girl Scout levels, including adult members.
Create an open, inviting and safe environment that encompasses the retail store.
Work with member resources and volunteer development staff and volunteers to provide resources to customers that support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
Ensure access to services in all areas of the council through a variety of delivery options, including online, phone, mail, and retail sales at council events.
Oversight and support of Council Trading Post locations, including but not limited to: POS training and support, inventory control and support of monthly financial reconciliation.
Works with the Director of Finance and the Marketing and Communications department, to develop and implement council shop marketing and merchandising plans to meet council retail sales goals.
Develop, administer, and track budget revenue and expenses through monthly financial statements, journal entries, invoice approval, and expedition of vendor payment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field desired.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ retail management experience desired.
Prior exposure to Girl Scouting, with a willingness to continue to learn the Girl Scout program.
Proven ability to manage a multi-project workload, to exercise initiative and be an effective team leader/member.
Demonstrated ability to effectively influence, motivate, and supervise regular, full- and part-time employees, volunteers and short-term project personnel in an effort to accomplish Council goals and strategies.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to creatively pursue innovative systems, etc.
Able to immediately recognize and maintain strict confidentiality in all appropriate matters.
Demonstrated customer service-oriented skills and attitude.
A dedicated, responsive and personally accountable team member and/or a fair and effective team leader
Experienced with budget development and management; ability to work within budget constraints and to maintain appropriate records to support the Council’s business systems.
Ability to work in a continually changing/evolving environment.

Computer literate with knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and point of sales system.

Physical Abilities:
Must have a valid AZ driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift 50 pounds without difficulty.
Must be able to sit at a computer terminal up to 1 to 2½ hours at a time; must be able to stand for up to 3 hours at a time.
Ability to climb stairs.
Ability to work a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends, as well as travel overnight outside of Maricopa County when necessary.
Ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions.
