The Retail Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in assisting the pharmacy practice in accordance with state and federal regulations. This position involves utilizing pharmacy systems to gather patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and ensure compliance with company policies. You will work closely with patients, families, doctors, and other medical personnel, delivering high-quality healthcare services. Key Responsibilities: Adhere to the Pharmacy Technician Code of Conduct. Provide outstanding support to healthcare providers and patients by greeting them in person or by phone and addressing inquiries. Manage pharmacy inventory effectively, including checking stock levels, placing orders, and handling outdated medications. Ensure the pharmacy remains safe and clean by following established regulations and procedures. Assist in prescription filling by accurately entering patient and drug information and verifying prescriptions. Immediately report any prescription errors to the Pharmacist and comply with quality improvement protocols. Follow all government regulations, including HIPAA and Medicare requirements. Engage with patients to resolve issues, answer questions, and enhance their experience. Accurately handle cash transactions and manage sales on the cash register. Guide and coordinate with fellow team members to ensure smooth operations. Process 3rd party insurance claims efficiently to secure timely payments. Maintain certification and licensure as per state regulations, and pursue ongoing training and education. Stay current with healthcare and pharmacy practices. Perform additional tasks as assigned. Essential Skills and Qualifications: Understanding of ChenMed services and pharmacy policies. Knowledge of pharmacy laws and medical terminology. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Proficient math and analytical skills. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to new situations. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Fluency in spoken and written English. Willingness to travel nationally for training and support, as necessary. Education and Experience Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; relevant experience may substitute for education requirements. Valid Pharmacy Technician registration and current licensure as required by state regulations. At least one year of experience in a pharmacy setting, including data entry experience.
