GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for inspiring a high-performing team that drives exceptional sales growth and guest experiences in the retail store. You will lead a team of managers while being accountable for all operations within the store, including the salon. This role requires a commitment to performance excellence, team leadership, and strategic oversight. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Performance: Foster a culture of accountability to achieve Ulta Beauty's goals related to sales, guest loyalty, payroll, and inventory management. Drive profitability through operational excellence and expense control, ensuring team productivity and timely completion of tasks. Conduct makeup applications and product demonstrations to engage customers and enhance their shopping experience. Stay informed of industry trends and product knowledge to better serve our guests. Uphold consistent attendance in alignment with Ulta Beauty’s policies. People: Attract and nurture a diverse team of top talent, meeting ongoing staffing needs effectively. Partner with leadership in addressing policy matters while fostering an inclusive work environment; encourage team engagement and collaboration. Lead manager and associate development through continuous training and performance reviews. Encourage open communication and align team goals with company objectives. Process: Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and operational standards. Utilize scheduling and task management tools effectively to optimize workforce deployment and store operations. Protect company assets through adherence to safety and loss prevention measures. Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on store performance to leadership. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: 3-5+ years in retail management or relevant experience. Proficient financial management, achieving sales targets and controlling expenses. Experience in driving service cultures and operational excellence. Skills: Basic technology proficiency including POS systems and Microsoft Office. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Strong organizational skills to manage tasks effectively. SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Flexible schedule availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to close the store at least once weekly. Willingness to travel for corporate meetings and training. WORKING CONDITIONS: Regular use of computers and office equipment.
