General Summary The Retail Operations Manager is fully responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, which encompasses the car wash, food service operations, profitability, budget management, expense control, inventory levels, shortage control, customer service, and safety. Key Responsibilities: Workforce Management and Development: Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop store staff. Demonstrate leadership and promote a strong team environment. Motivate team members to enhance performance continuously. Address employee relations issues effectively. Provide constructive feedback and coaching to employees. Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer appropriate support. Maintain high standards of personal grooming and appearance. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures among all employees. Supervise hourly employees regarding time reporting for payroll. Post work schedules in accordance with company policy. Financials and Sales: Devise and implement site-level operating budgets. Enhance store profitability and achieve financial objectives set forth. Maximize sales including gasoline volume according to company guidelines. Monitor retail gasoline prices in alignment with business strategies. Ensure proper product mix and maintain optimal inventory levels. Oversee stocking of shelves and refrigerated coolers. Minimize loss of cash and inventory while meeting shrink targets. Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal laws. Oversee fund reconciliation and conduct inventory audits. Ensure accurate preparation of all necessary documentation. Customer Service: Deliver outstanding customer experiences consistently. Greet every customer warmly and sincerely. Promote sales and specials proactively. Take full ownership of the customer service program at the store level. Safety & Store Appearance: Minimize safety risks for employees, customers, and suppliers. Train all employees on safety policies and procedures. Document and manage store safety and security measures thoroughly. Maintain a clean and appealing store environment. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Support the implementation of health and safety programs. Promptly investigate and report any workplace incidents. Conduct new employee safety orientations. Regularly inspect for workplace hazards and act immediately. Encourage reporting of unsafe conditions and address them. Qualifications: 1-3 years of management experience in convenience store, retail, fast food, or restaurant operations. Understanding of budgeting and P&L statements. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Exhibits strong leadership and interpersonal skills. UST Class A/B Certification is required for Maine applicants or the ability to obtain within 30 days. Effective communication skills across all organizational levels. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs. Completion of certification testing as necessary. Familiarity with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel. Physical Requirements: Ensure physical maintenance and cleanliness of store facilities. Perform other related duties as required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary. Accessibility to all areas of the store. Endure extended periods at a desk and on a computer. Stand at a cash register for prolonged periods.
