ABOUT THIS JOB:
Our Retail Marketing Manager, Key Accounts is responsible for supporting the independent pet specialty sales team in all aspects of key account retail marketing. This person will be responsible for developing and executing customized marketing strategies and promotional plans to support and grow our top 20-30 key accounts. A team player, this role will serve as the marketing lead for these accounts, working cross-functionally with sales, product management, and brand teams (sponsorships, socials, and digital) to deliver tailored support that addresses each retailer’s unique needs and opportunities.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Strategic Planning: In collaboration with Retail Marketing Director and Key Account Sales Manager, develop annual and quarterly marketing strategies aligned with business goals for each key account, grounded in data insights and retail-specific dynamics.
- Program Development: Design and implement account-specific marketing programs—including in-store activations, digital marketing campaigns, co-branded content, and promotional calendars—to drive traffic, lift sales, and build brand equity.
- Performance Management: Monitor program effectiveness using sales and engagement metrics; optimize strategies based on performance and feedback. Provide regular reporting and analysis to internal stakeholders.
- Collaboration with Sales: Partner closely with the Key Account Sales team to align priorities, coordinate execution, and ensure seamless integration of marketing efforts into broader account plans.
- Budget Oversight: Manage allocated marketing budgets for key accounts, ensuring efficient use of resources and ROI accountability.
- Sales Support: Manage additional ad-hoc tasks as needed to support the marketing department and collaborate with other teams.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Experienced working in a complex sales channel where tactics vary widely by retailer and region.
- Proven ability to formulate effective strategies that can serve as foundation for other retailers and programs.
- Responsible, entrepreneurial mindset
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills to manage project timelines and cross-functional teams with strong attention to details.
- Ability to think strategically while executing with excellence.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and focus on outcomes.
- Analytical skills in using data to make sound recommendations affecting business decisions and results.
- Culturally sensitive interpersonal skills and team player who empathically supports the cross functional team to commit to performance.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate recommendations in a respectful and fearless manner.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or related field
- 3+ years in retail marketing, preferably within CPG.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
- High proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- If based in Austin (preferred), requires travel up to 15% of the time.
- If based remotely, requires monthly travel to Nulo’s home office in Austin, TX.
- Visit key markets once or twice per year.
- In-person meetings at the discretion of the team lead and business needs.
