SUMMARY The Retail Manager is responsible for all retail operations at the resort including Vertical Drop, Bear's Essentials and Trailside Retail. Primary duties include management of personnel, budgeting, purchasing and receiving, cost of goods management and merchandising. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Oversees all aspects of the retail experience in order to exceed guest expectations. Anticipates customer needs and trends in the retail space, maintaining operations in response to seasonal variation and hotel occupancy. Effectively manages departmental budgets, including labor and expenses. Manages and promotes safety in all work environments. Works with other resort departments, include lodging, F&B, guest services and mountain operations, among others to ensure seamless internal and outward focused guest satisfaction. Is a proactive leader with strong communication, analytical, and customer service skills. Ensures all VT DLC licensing, training and certificates are maintained for staff and sales location. Ensures orders are placed in a timely manner to ensure guest expectations are met, including weekly ordering of food and beverages and other goods at the Bear's Essentials location. Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position. SUPERVISORY DUTIES 4-5-Supervises staff of five or more individuals. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring employees, creating and carrying out a thorough orientation and training process, planning, assigning and directing work, creating and maintaining standards by which to appraise and evaluate individuals as well as rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
