GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE: The General Manager (GM) is essential in leading Ulta Beauty's mission by developing a high-performing team that drives top-line sales growth. You will manage all aspects of a retail store, including the salon, focusing on performance, people, and processes. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Job Functions): Performance: Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed goals related to retail sales, guest loyalty, payroll, and other key metrics. Drive profitability through operational excellence and sales growth. Utilize store forecasts and payroll budgets to maximize productivity and complete workloads efficiently. Address identified issues from financial and operational reports to achieve company goals. Engage directly with guests through makeup applications and product demonstrations to enhance sales and service experience. Stay informed on industry trends and products to provide exceptional service to guests. Maintain attendance policies and hold associates accountable. People: Attract and retain a diverse team of top talent while efficiently managing staffing needs. Address policy violations in a fair manner as per Ulta Beauty's procedures. Build a highly engaged team that embodies Ulta's brand through effective collaboration and communication. Create an inclusive culture that inspires growth and engagement within your team. Lead the development of managers and associates through individualized training and performance reviews. Participate in ongoing training to foster professional development. Ensure your team engages in continuous training aimed at driving sales performance. Encourage open communication by aligning team goals with corporate objectives. Promote teamwork by providing clear priorities and direction to the management team. Flawlessly execute guest engagement initiatives to enhance guest experience and drive business results. Process: Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures. Adhere to and enforce dress codes within the store. Utilize scheduling tools to assign the right associates to the right tasks at optimal times. Implement task management tools to prioritize store workload and ensure compliance with policies. Protect assets and minimize loss by adhering to store standards and operating procedures. Manage inventory processes and complete necessary theft reporting. Influence the adoption of company initiatives to ensure continuous improvement. Communicate business trends, opportunities, and challenges to field leadership regularly. JOB QUALIFICATION: Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: 3-5+ years in fast-paced retail management or equivalent experience. Proven success in financial management, driving sales, and managing budgets. Demonstrated ability to manage inventory, drive operational excellence, and foster a service culture. Experience in attracting and developing talent and leading teams through change. Skills: Proficient in basic technology (Point of Sale systems, Microsoft Office, etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong collaboration and interpersonal abilities. High organizational skills to manage multiple tasks. Adaptability and good judgment in stressful situations. SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Flexible full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Availability to close the store at least once per week. Attend corporate business meetings, including potential overnight stays and travel. Maintain valid ID for travel purposes. WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent use of computers and telephonic devices. Continuous movement throughout the store. Frequent physical activities including bending and lifting.
