Purpose of the Job
Product demonstrations are a fundamental part of the shopping experience-- they are a make-or-break moment for consumers who are considering new hardware. As a Demo Project Manager on the Retail Marketing team, you will be at the hub of crafting this workstream, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to bring it to life. From initial concept through user testing, executive approval, and final delivery, you will be a key contributor to the success of our demo program.
You should be a quick learner with a solid understanding of the competitive landscape, the ability to interface with cross-functional teams, and the passion for bringing hardware products to life. Overall, you are an innovator who is eager to handle creative and technical challenges, has great problem solving skills and focuses on enhancing the consumer experience. A strong project management background is a requirement, and creative (advertising) background is a plus.
This is hybrid role located in the San Francisco Bay Area
Key Responsibilities
Excellent project manager and self-starter, with experience managing complex projects interfacing multiple cross-functional teams (e.g. legal, partner marketing, regional teams, external agency, etc.).
Management of timelines: For the agency, deployment team and key stakeholder reviews.
Proactively manage and track assets from integrated teams to ensure timely delivery.
Drive retail demo strategy with the creative and technical agency through the end-to-end process of demo creation and deployment from concept to delivery.
Consult with cross functional teams on key experiences to highlight within demo experience.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to secure features and resources, ensuring the development of demo experiences that cater to shoppers needs and improve competitiveness.
Present compelling demo vision and experience to key stakeholders
Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive and scale omni-channel demo experience across new channels.
Continuously evaluate competitive retail experiences and identify opportunities to improve the engagement of shoppers with our products in a retail environment.
Collaborate effectively with the global team across different geographies, proactively establishing credibility and influence.
Knowledge, Skills + Experience
BA/BS required in any field.
At least 4-5 years of experience in a retail marketing role.
Knowledge of the consumer electronic / consumer technology / mass retail / carrier landscape preferred.
Excellent project management skills, both internal and client facing.
Experience at a creative agency or managing one.
Large-scale complex project management experience in driving projects across the finishing line.
Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles with outstanding execution, resourcefulness, creativity, and working with ambiguity in cross functional teams.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop strategy and business plans, as well as analyze customer and market insights and market spend effectiveness.
Detail-oriented with a proven track record of driving tactical executions.
Excellent communication, both written and oral presentation skills.
Experience with global product launches in a retail environment.
Technical affinity and ability to understand product functionality and operations.
Flexibility and ability to work under ambiguity and uncertainty in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
For CA applicants: The salary range for this position is $115,00 to $125,000 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, certifications and work location. This range may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus targets, benefits and/or other applicable incentives.
