SUMMARY :The Retail Branch Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the branch and supervising the retail staff. The Retail Branch Manager is an expert in all teller and new accounts duties, and ensures that there is adequate staff to perform these duties. The position ensures that all retail staff members demonstrate exceptional customer service and follow established customer service guidelines with both internal and external customers. The position ensures that all retail staff members follow appropriate compliance guidelines and complete required compliance training. The position is responsible for branch security and safety, and ensures that staff members follow established controls. The position is responsible for leading the retail sales efforts and leading staff in meeting sales goals. The position engages in business development efforts to bring in additional banking relationships, and serves as leader to promote the Bank in the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following Essential Duties satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the Essential Duties of the position:
1. Supervises branch retail staff; coaches and counsels to achieve improvement; completes disciplinary action as needed; and evaluates and completes retail staff performance reviews.
2. Communicates with retail team members any policy and procedure updates provided by the Regional Retail Manager and ensure that team members understand the changes.
3. Communicates openly with the Regional Retail Manager about staffing, training, and any other needs to help improve branch operations.
4. Provides exceptional customer service, and ensures that the branch adheres to established customer service guidelines.
5. Acts as the leader in selling Bank products; coaches the retail team toward branch/Bank sales goals; and maintains expert knowledge on bank products and services.
6. Ensures that retail staff maintains the privacy and confidentiality of customer information; follows appropriate compliance guidelines and ensures that retail team members follow compliance guidelines; completes compliance testing and ensures retail team members complete compliance testing as required; ensures that the branch follows established security protocols and minimize risk to the bank at all times (e.g., while opening and closing the Bank and utilizing dual control and customer service standards).
7. Leads retail team by example; exemplifies teamwork and creates a positive team environment in the region and throughout the Bank; and exemplifies excellent decision making skills by pursuing the Bank's best interest at all times.
8. Ensures that Senior Customer Service Representatives (CSR), Lead CSRs, and CSRs receive appropriate training on their job duties and responsibilities; develops staff for future opportunities; and supports retail team by maintaining expert knowledge on all teller and new account policies and procedures.
9. Contributes to the overall profitability of the branch through cost controls, income generation, and branch sales; and monitors expenses to ensure compliance with budget.
10. Maintains branch facilities, equipment, and fixtures in good working condition; and completes branch administrative duties as needed (e.g., ordering supplies, sorting mail, filing, etc.).
11. Completes monthly audits and reports as required.
12. Completes special projects and serves on Bank committees as requested.
13. Works closely with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Officer, and promotes the Bank's CRA policies and programs; forwards all related documents, comments, or requests to the CRA Officer; and maintains responsibility for the administration of the branch's CRA public file.
14. Serves as a leader to promote the Bank through community involvement by representing the Bank in community, civic, and community-reinvestment functions; and engages in business development efforts to sell additional banking relationships.
15. Able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: The incumbent will spend most of the time performing this position in a professional office-type setting. Some travel is necessary between Bank locations. The incumbent for this position may drive a personally owned vehicle, which may expose him or her to the outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts, and may also include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, keyboarding, speaking, listening, lifting, driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.
The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, smart phone, copy and fax machines, adding machine (calculator), scanner and image systems, scanning equipment, encoder, money counter, credit card terminal, typewriter, computer terminal, laptop computer, personal computer, tablet, printers, or other equipment as directed.

MENTAL DEMANDS: The incumbent in this position must be able to read and understand documents, instruments, and financial reports; perform detailed work; and problem solve. Incumbent must be able to manage stress, multiple concurrent tasks, and constant interruptions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:: These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and some college or additional banking courses, a minimum of two (2) years of management/supervisory experience, and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in customer service and/or sales.
COMPETENCIES:- Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, host computer system, and word processing and spreadsheet software programs; intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.- Basic math skills including, but not limited to, the following: ability to calculate interest; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; and count currency, coin, and negotiable instruments in a timely manner. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others; train personnel; read, analyze, understand, and interpret documents, professional journals, and procedures; write reports, correspondence, and procedures; speak clearly and communicate critical information to customers and employees.- Organizational and time management skills with the ability to provide leadership, supervision, and training for employees using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity; demonstrated ability in organization and delegation skills.- Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.- Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.- A current, non-suspended driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage as governed by Bank policy are required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities, as well as the ability and willingness to travel between Bank and branch locations, during the day, overnight, and in and out of state as required.
