Overview The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards as outlined in all work centers, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be requested to perform additional tasks in specific situations, if performance of these tasks will help achieve our Customer service and operational goals. Responsibilities Follow all store best practices and policies to ensure a safe, clean, and organized store environment. Greet Customers, assist with merchandise, and respond to Customer questions in a courteous, knowledgeable manner. Maintain safe conditions on the sales floor and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership. Assist with inventory processes, including expediting newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandising items per guidelines. Perform cleaning tasks and maintain professional appearance and adherence to dress code. Support Loss Prevention programs and follow MOS policies for merchandise processing and disposals. Handle cash, checks, refunds, and other transactions accurately and securely. Demonstrate a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and minimize unnecessary steps. Qualifications And Special Skills Required Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly and cooperative manner. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments. Physical Requirements/ADA Ability to use Store equipment (PDTs, registers) as required. Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of the time; ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop as required. Ability to push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally (20 pounds for some Stockroom shifts). Ability to use janitorial equipment and ladders as needed.
