Position Overview The Retail Assistant Manager plays a vital role in delivering our mission to provide the most enjoyable shopping experience for our Guests. This position involves various tasks in sales, merchandising, and operations, supporting the Store Manager and Leadership Team. The role is designed to develop your skills as you progress, sharing responsibilities with the Assistant in Training position, while taking on more advanced duties as needed. Key Responsibilities Sales and Customer Service Welcome Guests warmly, providing outstanding service. Respond promptly to customer inquiries about store merchandise. Assist Guests in selecting items to fulfill their needs. Proactively suggest complementary products to enhance the shopping experience. Utilize product knowledge to demonstrate items effectively. Stay informed of current promotions and policies regarding exchanges and security measures. Aim to meet and exceed personal sales goals set by management. Ensure the store’s top areas, including the sales floor and fitting rooms, are consistently well-serviced. Foster strong Guest relationships to encourage repeat business. Lead by example in service quality and team engagement. Team Development and Training Identify potential teammates and encourage referrals. Motivate and train new employees to meet Buckle's standards. Uphold a positive work culture and dress code. Participate in daily training and performance tracking. Support teammates in achieving daily operational tasks. Encourage and demonstrate product knowledge and sales techniques. Visual Merchandising Oversee product presentation and visual standards in the store. Collaborate with the Store Manager on visual strategies. Identify merchandising opportunities and communicate these effectively. Ensure the sales floor is organized and visually appealing. Operational Duties Maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed. Utilize planning tools effectively, completing necessary checklists. Be vigilant for security risks and adhere to loss prevention guidelines. Handle calls from Corporate and address challenges with a positive attitude.
