Part-Time Assistant Retail Manager (Pokémon Professor & Trading Card Game Specialist)
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Part-Time Assistant Retail Manager to help lead our team and deliver an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate is a certified Pokémon Professor with extensive expertise in Pokémon TCG and other trading card games such as Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh. This role combines leadership, sales, and event coordination to engage our gaming community while driving store performance.
Responsibilities:
Assist in day-to-day store operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and cash handling.
Lead and organize in-store events, Pokémon leagues, and trading card tournaments.
Provide expert-level guidance and product recommendations for all trading card games.
Train and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service.
Support the Store Manager in meeting sales goals and KPIs.
Qualifications:
Certified Pokémon Professor status (active).
Extensive knowledge of Pokémon TCG and other major trading card games.
Retail or customer service experience preferred.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Availability for evenings, weekends, and event days.

Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

Oversee cash handling procedures, ensuring accuracy in transactions and adherence to company policies.
Manage inventory levels through effective ordering, stocking, and merchandising strategies.
Conduct employee orientation and training sessions to enhance team performance.
Collaborate with the Store Manager on budgeting and financial planning to meet sales goals.
Implement marketing strategies to promote store promotions and increase foot traffic.
Utilize retail math skills for pricing strategies and sales analysis.
Maintain compliance with company policies regarding health, safety, and operational standards.
Experience
Candidates should possess a blend of retail experience and management skills. The following qualifications are preferred:
Proven experience in retail management or as an assistant manager.
Strong background in customer service with excellent communication skills.
Experience with inventory management systems and point-of-sale (POS) technology.
Skills in negotiation, recruiting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and budgeting.
Familiarity with merchandising techniques and effective sales strategies.
Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus to enhance customer interactions.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
