SAS has an opening for an Area Manager that will reside in or near the Atlanta, GA and travel to retail stores. The position requires a people‐oriented leader with the ability to drive business results through coaching and training both in person and remotely. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Area Manager works with the District Manager on all aspects of business of assigned stores. During store visits, perform store audit to ensure compliance with SAS policies, procedures and standards of service. Monitor staffing needs of assigned stores to ensure adequate staffing at each assigned store. Assist with hiring and training store managers in assigned stores. Train store managers on grass roots marketing for assigned stores with the support and assistance of the Corporate Retail team. Create monthly report of grass roots efforts and outcomes to deliver to leadership. Work with Store Manager and District Manager for assigned stores to achieve sales goals and drive sales for assigned stores. Provide feedback and training onsite with store employees to ensure consistent delivery of customer service standards in assigned stores, through personal interactions with employees and customers and regular training. Monitor and adjust inventory mix and merchandise presentation to maximize sales results. Coordinate regular inventory audits at assigned stores with the assistance of POS and Merchandising. Demonstrate understanding and enthusiasm for SAS products and the company’s philosophy through your words and actions daily. Work with store managers to develop a grass roots plan to promote SAS to businesses surrounding assigned stores. Identify community events/groups in assigned stores to support local areas and maximize the future growth of the company. Consistently and effectively communicate policies, programs, promotions and other information to create a free flow of information to the field in assigned stores. Assist store managers with employee issues to help coach and resolve issues. Provide support to store managers in assigned area as needed. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 5+ years of experience in retail store management (a degree may substitute for some experience). Management of multiple departments and handling intricate employee relations is a plus. Ability to travel to the stores  50‐80%  of the time on average. Travel will vary, but the position requires the ability to travel as often as needed. Possess exceptional communication skills and timely follow up. Mature, responsible, innovative and self‐motivated with a strong work ethic. Be a team player and have the ability to work independently with solid follow through. Must exercise confidentiality. Be flexible to travel at any time per job requirements.
