JOB SUMMARY:
The objective of the Accounting Supervisor-Retail is to establish and enforce the policies and procedures of Beretta’s retail division, including its premium Gallery store network. This individual will oversee the daily accounting and other miscellaneous accounting procedures in the respective supporting software systems. Review General Ledger proofs and reconciliation on a current (actual) basis and as a comparison to budget and forecasts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Financial Oversight and Reporting
Work with senior management on the development and execution of strategic plans and fiscal budgets for the sales and operations of the Retail stores.
Develop financial reports as necessary for the management of Retail operations.
Review financial results and provide appropriate analysis for management.
Review and maintain accounting reports in POS system and ensure data accuracy.
Inventory Accounting & Controls
Design, implement, and enhance inventory accounting policies across retail and distribution centers.
Ensure proper accounting for inventory transactions including purchasing, transfers, sales, and consignment stock.
Oversee and analyze monthly inventory reconciliations; identify and resolve discrepancies proactively.
Lead and supervise the annual physical inventory process with precision and accountability.
Maintain inventory master data (e.g., item cost, SKU/product codes) in alignment with finance and merchandising systems.
Retail Operations (Gallery Store)
Review monthly journal entries for the Cougar Corp.
Ensure timely and accurate G/L reconciliations each month.
Monitor and manage retail cash flow and execute fund transfers and payments to Beretta USA (BUSA).
Deliver actionable margin analysis reports on serialized products to support product and pricing decisions.
Review and interpret monthly Management Profitability Reports to guide operational improvements
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Participate in cross-functional financial projects supporting executive initiatives.
Identify automation or process improvement opportunities to streamline retail accounting workflows.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed in a professional group office environment.
Utilization of PC and main frame computer system.
QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES:
Ability to use spreadsheet and word processing software; Excel and Word for Windows a plus.
Knowledge of POS systems and operations.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree in Accounting.
Certified Public Accountant a plus.
3+ years experience in an automated accounting environment for a retail or similar business
