About the Role
We’re seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) with a strong background in retail and restaurant architecture, specifically focused on the production of construction documents rather than conceptual design. This role is ideal for candidates who excel at translating existing design plans into detailed, build-ready documentation.
You’ll work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure architectural drawings meet technical specifications, code compliance, and project timelines. Responsibilities
Develop architectural layouts and construction documents based on client-provided designs.
Coordinate with Draftspersons to ensure alignment with project specifications.
Use AutoCAD (and Revit in select studios) to produce accurate technical drawings.
Interpret and apply local and state building codes.
Conduct site surveys as needed and prepare documentation for project approvals and bidding.
Collaborate with clients to clarify project requirements and ensure compliance with architectural standards.
Maintain organized records of project files, reports, and documentation.
Support Project Managers across multiple concurrent projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
2+ years of experience as an APM or Job Captain in an architectural firm.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit
Familiarity with SketchUp, Photoshop, or Illustrator is a bonus.
Experience drafting construction documents for retail or commercial environments.
Ability to interpret construction data and engineering drawings.
Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on Target or similar retail store projects.
Familiarity with Azure-based collaboration tools or cloud-based project management platforms.
Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
