CURRENT OPPORTUNITY: Residential (HVAC) Service Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION: Install, maintain or repair HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, as assigned, with quality and workmanship under time guidelines and goals to ensure customer satisfaction
Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems
Assist in the training of junior team members
Meet all HVAC codes
Work successfully with our customer care teams to ensure effective dispatching while maintaining a productive schedule without unnecessary delays
Completing assignments on nights and/or weekends to serve customers, as needed when on call
Maintaining a valid Texas driver's license with a clear (or Company acceptable near clear) driving record to ensure ability to travel to assigned jobs in a company vehicle
Maintain and upgrade skills and the latest industry technology knowledge, as offered through Tom's by participating in, and engaging in, on-going training programs
Maintain communication with the Residential Service Manager regarding any issues, customer concerns, or any obstacle that may hinder meeting Tom's guidelines for customer satisfaction
Complete all documentation and necessary administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner to support company operations
Maintain appropriate and professional communication with all Tom Mechanical, Inc.'s customers while meeting or exceeding customer service quality and workmanship requirements
Through your own example, guide other team members to delivering customer satisfaction by: Maintaining safety
Being productive
Maintaining a positive attitude
Maintaining a clean personal appearance and good hygiene
Maintaining a clean, neat, well-organized vehicle
Showing quality workmanship
Utilize problem-solving skills and constructive solutions
Support the emergency on-call schedules
Work with Residential Service Manager to develop a skills development plan
Keeping approved, appropriate logs of refrigerants
Required to be E.P.A and T.D.L.R. registered
Must have a valid Texas driver license and the ability to be insured through Tom's insurance.
Technicians are required to supply their own tools and be physically able to climb ladders and lift/pull 60lbs.
Performs other related duties, as assigned

From interview to last day of employment, the ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen
Continual ability to pass a background clearance verification

Ability and willingness to work long hours during peak heating and cooling seasons
Strong work ethic and behavior
Education and Experience: Current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification and TDLR Registration
High School Diploma, GED and/or a certification from an accredited technical school
Hands-on residential HVAC field experience for 2 years or more
Physical Requirements: Must be able to: Bend or twist body, 90 degrees in either direction
Stand on all surfaces for long periods of time
Work in tight, uncomfortable spaces such as hot attics
Squat and touch floor with hands
Use hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools and/or controls
Climb ladder, scaffolds and/or poles safely
Use repetitive motions
Walk and/or run for long periods of time
Lift up to 50 lbs., in addition to body weight
Reach over head with ease
Access rooftops with extension or fixed ladders at heights of up to 50 feet, as needed
Complete job with safety in mind for all involved and communicate any issues to the assigned SME that could lead to safety concerns prior to completing tasks
Must be able to physically climb ladders and lift/pull 60 lbs.
