Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide (PCA)
The Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide (PCA) provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents of the community.
Responsibilities:
- Report incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals
- Maintain knowledge of all policies and procedures
- Assist residents with activities of daily living
- Perform housekeeping duties
- Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts
- Remain calm and competent during emergencies
- Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents
- Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information
- Assist residents to and from dining room and activities
- Check on residents, ensure attendance at meals and activities
- Check on ill residents and report status or concerns
- Communicate verbally and in writing to report resident status and community information
- Assist new residents with move-in transition
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successfully completed approved personal care aide program
- Effective communication skills
- Organizational skills and ability to work with all levels of personnel
- Contributing member of nursing team
- Polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs
- Safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
- Designated uniform during working hours
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire
- Represent the community in a positive and professional manner
- Attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings
- Willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
