The Town of Miami is accepting applications for a part-time Receptionist/Utility Clerk. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid Arizona Drivers License, hold a high school diploma or GED, and be a U.S. citizen. Candidates must also have no felony convictions.
Job Description
Position: Receptionist/Utility Clerk (PART-TIME) Classification: Non-Exempt Department: Administration General Description: Serves as the customer service representative for the Town, and coordinates with Finance Director to share information and process payments. Such as recordkeeping, mail distribution, telephone operator, receives the public, accepts utility payments and other office support services. Supervision Received/Exercised: Supervised by and receives administrative direction from the Finance Director. Typical Duties/Responsibilities: The following duties and responsibilities are normal for this position: The omission of specific statements of the duties and responsibilities of this position does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related or logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required or assigned by the Town Manager. - Receives the public. - Answers the telephones and directs calls. - Coordinates with the Finance Department to receive and process utility bills as well as Departments deposit and maintain drawer. - Communicate with the Community Services Department on received payment. - Records cash receipts. - Create employee, councilmembers business cards, forms, labels and keep records of such maintain lobby information up to date. - Performs general office practices such as typing, filing, handling mail and email correspondence, basic accounting principles and practices. - Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED. Skills and Knowledge of: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, creating forms and other office procedures and terminology. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. Managing ones own time and the time of others. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, tools, computers and software. Dependable and prompt attendance. Special Requirements: Valid Arizona Drivers License or ability to obtain one within 30 days. Must sign an Internal Confidentiality Statement. Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job the employee will typically work in a temperature controlled public building. Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, stretching, lifting, and standing, and movement in the areas described are required. Not expected to lift more than 50 lbs.
