Production Manager

We are a specialized manufacturing company providing in-house photochemical etching and metal forming services. The Production Manager is a dynamic, hands-on, leader responsible for all aspects of the production department with a focus on safety, continuously improving productivity, processes, quality and team skillsets through training, cross-training and persistent motivation of the team. Strong communication with other departments such as Quality, Engineering, Sales, EHS and Waste Treatment is crucial to managing resources, scheduling, and customer expectations driven by internal metrics.

Job Description

Promote the Safety-First principle with employees. Participate as an active member of the Safety Committee and conduct floor walks/audits periodically to de-risk operations. Own and execute production activities to obtain on-time deliveries to customers. Adjust schedules and/or priorities as necessary to meet established goals. Ensure that there's strong accountability to all company policies and procedures. Maintain adequate staffing and allocation to meet the production demand schedule. Ensure punctual, reliable, and acceptable attendance and approve employees' hours including overtime and PTO. Suggest process improvements for production quality and capacity. Visible leadership presence with 50% or more time spent on the production floor. Develop standard operating procedures (SOP's) and training documents to improve workflows and training. Investigate and resolve production issues. Assist in employee onboarding, performance evaluation, feedback, promotion, retention, and termination activities. Be an energic, positive leader with high motivation.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing setting. Minimum 5 years of experience directly managing employees within a production environment required. Demonstrated success at first-line supervisory level or leading a small production operation. Prior experience in Etching, Photochemical Machining and/or Lithography highly desired. Continuous improvement and waste reduction mindset including experience leading and/or participating in kaizen events such as TPI, TPM, SMED or VSM. Proven ability to lead employees and ensure that training and development is performed. Experience utilizing an ERP/MRP system. Excellent leadership, management, and motivational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office. Refined time management skills, including the capability of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
