Job Title: Product Owner –Retail POS
Role Overview We are seeking a skilled and strategic Product Owner (PO) to lead the development and enhancement of retail Point-of-Sale (POS) solutions. This role is pivotal in aligning business objectives with technical execution, ensuring seamless customer experiences across in-store, mobile, and online channels. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, deep domain expertise in retail POS, and a collaborative approach to product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Analysis
Gather, analyze, and validate business and technical requirements from diverse stakeholders.
Conduct gap and impact analyses to align current POS capabilities with evolving business needs.
Facilitate clarification sessions and finalize user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional specifications.
Support development and QA teams throughout the sprint lifecycle to ensure accurate implementation.
Stakeholder Communication
Act as the primary liaison between business users, product management, and technical teams.
Lead workshops, sprint demos, UAT sessions, and feedback cycles.
Communicate risks, dependencies, and project updates clearly and proactively.
Project Coordination & Dependency Management
Collaborate with project managers and scrum masters on sprint planning and execution.
Identify and manage cross-functional dependencies, including third-party integrations (e.G., payment gateways, loyalty platforms).
Monitor progress and help resolve blockers to maintain delivery timelines.
Retail POS Domain Focus
Recommend and refine POS features such as transactions, returns, inventory, promotions, loyalty, and cashier workflows.
Ensure support for multi-store operations, offline functionality, and hardware integrations (e.G., scanners, printers, payment devices).
Validate compliance with operational, tax, and regulatory standards across regions.
Required Skillset
Domain Expertise
2–4 years of experience as a Product Owner in the Retail POS domain.
Strong understanding of retail operations including inventory, pricing, promotions, loyalty, and reconciliation processes.
Familiarity with omnichannel retail and e-commerce integration is a plus.
Technical Skills
Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
Skilled in writing user stories, process flows, and wireframes.
Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and system integrations (preferred).
Experience with tools like Excel, Visio, or Lucidchart for modeling workflows and data.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Adaptable and delivery-focused in a fast-paced retail technology environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience with cloud-based POS platforms.
