As a member of the Produce team, you will play a vital role in showcasing our produce, keeping our displays fresh and inviting, and ensuring that we meet Whole Foods Market's high standards. Your responsibilities will include receiving and preparing products, maintaining the beauty of the Produce floor, and engaging with customers to enhance their shopping experience. Responsibilities: Ensure our displays are fresh and appealing by keeping cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and front-faced while checking product codes and removing outdated items. Assist the Team Leader in organizing and showcasing volume and seasonal items effectively. Monitor and prevent spoilage, promptly communicating any waste to buyers and supervisors. Complete required worksheets for spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweeping. Help with routine inventory checks. Arrive on time, dressed appropriately and ready to work all scheduled shifts while attending required trainings and meetings. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer needs promptly and using suggestive selling techniques; answer inquiries courteously. Maximize sales potential by following proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products. Comply with established health, sanitation, and safety procedures. Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment according to our safety standards. Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy in signs and pricing. Report any safety hazards and violations immediately. Other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership. Qualifications: Ability to proactively sell products. Willingness to learn about all products in the department. Knowledge of the differences between conventional and organic produce. Strong attention to detail and communication skills; teamwork is essential. Ability to meet customer service expectations in all interactions. Effective time management and organizational skills. Passion for natural foods and alignment with Whole Foods Market's mission. Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of and compliance with quality goals. Experience: No prior retail experience is required. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Job involves standing and walking for 6-8 hours a day. Tasks include bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Ability to work in varying wet and dry conditions. Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Experience with tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and ladders when necessary. The wage range for this position is $16.50-$25.40 hourly, based on experience.
