Pharmacy Technician Assists pharmacist in prescription order preparation/delivery. Receives and transcribes new orders and refill authorizations. Uses medication orders to identify, locate and pull appropriate quantity of medication needed. Prepares medication for dispensing. Packages medication order for delivery. Accurately requests refill authorizations from prescribers. Delivers prescription orders to patients or patient care area under the direction of the pharmacist. Assists in maintaining medication and supply inventory. Assesses medication and supply inventory levels daily. Considers contractual agreements prior to ordering. Obtains appropriate order authorization. Orders medications and supplies from appropriate source. Receives and checks in medications and supplies. Completes documentation of inventory received. Researches discrepancies and processes returns and credits. Codes and bills invoices to appropriate departments. Maintains necessary purchasing documentation for business and regulatory needs.
