: The phlebotomist is responsible for specimen collections, accessioning, labeling and transport of specimens. Must optimize patient safety with minimal medical/health care errors in any or all the sections of the Clinical Laboratory All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives. Adheres to specific hospital policy and procedures. Requirements: High School Graduate or GED required. Courses in biology, chemistry and computer preferred. Certification in phlebotomy preferred but not required. Certifications based on the unit worked: Previous experience in a clinical laboratory is desirable.
