Job Summary: The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) plays a crucial frontline role in delivering quality healthcare services by performing skilled blood specimen collection and patient support. Assigned to an outpatient setting, the PSR II ensures timely and accurate processing of laboratory specimens while maintaining patient trust and professional integrity.
Key Responsibilities: Perform venipuncture and specimen collection with pediatric and geriatric populations Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of all specimens in the patient's presence Maintain a clean, safe, and professional clinical environment Follow established clinical and forensic specimen handling procedures Demonstrate consistent punctuality and attendance for all scheduled shifts Travel to alternate sites may be required with minimal notice Required Experience: 3+ years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections 2+ years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred Experience in customer service within a healthcare or retail setting Strong data entry and keyboard skills Nice-to-Have Experience: Medical assistant or paramedic training Experience with high-volume specimen collection environments Required Skills: Excellent venipuncture and collection technique Ability to manage time and multiple tasks independently Consistent attendance and punctuality Strong patient communication and customer service skills Preferred Skills: Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, and WA) Knowledge of safety and health protocols in clinical settings Reliable transportation (no reliance on public transit, rideshare, etc.) Additional Skills: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume setting Strict adherence to scheduling, dress code, and safety procedures Preparedness for emergency response, including CPR
