Ability to perform in a high volume, fast-paced and results driven setting highly preferred.

This position plays a critical role ensuring patients have timely access to necessary medications by completing and submitting prior authorization for Mercy Primary Care clinics. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team and recognizes the importance of group goals.

Accurately answer electronic, verbal, and manual prior authorization requests. Research active prescription insurance via chart or eligibility search. Communicate with clinics to acquire missing information to complete prior authorization. Answer incoming calls from insurance companies Other duties as assigned. Qualification(s): Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Licensure: CPHT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (obtained within 6 months of hire), Actively registered and in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of employment. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.Preferred Qualifications: Experience: EPIC experience1 year of retail pharmacy experience, preferred.
