Pharmacy Technician Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy and the Retail Pharmacy Manager the pharmacy technician maintains records and assists in the entering and dispensing of prescriptions to provide high quality pharmaceutical services for hospital patients on discharge and employees. Duties And Responsibilities Communicate with nursing/physicians upon patient discharge from the hospital for potential dispensing of medications and clarifying of prescriptions. Be able to operate RXQ to fill prescriptions including ability to communicate with insurance companies, process insurance rejections and prescriptions and back- up system daily. Ability to operate HPF and Paragon to view patient information Check all medications dispensed for allergies, correct dose, correct medication Scan out medications into RXQ to make sure that the NDC numbers match the dispensed prescription to prevent insurance fraud. Operate the BZQ for scanning out and signing out medication once patient receives medication. Ability to operate cash register and credit card machine Responsible for gathering receipts, cash, checks and money to prepare daily bank deposits Education Minimum of high school education or GED. Qualifications And Experience Must be registered with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician Must possess high level organizational skills, communication skills, reliability and attention to detail. Previous retail pharmacy employment preferred.
