Job Summary: The Pharmacy Fill Technician accurately prepares prescriptions, including the careful picking, labeling, scanning, and final preparation of prescriptions for the pharmacist's verification. Additionally, they assist in maintaining a well-organized workspace and ensure compliance with regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities: Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas (pre-pack racks)
Accuracy check of final preparation before presenting to the pharmacist
Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently and in a timely and prioritized manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist
Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure
Assist in pre-packing frequently ordered medications; label and stock as needed during low-volume times
Package materials and products manually
Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
Maintain clean/organized workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed each shift
Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly
Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected
Other duties as assigned; job duties may vary depending on business needs

Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of brand name/generic medications
Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Able to work at a moderate speed
Able to work during inclement weather
Reliable

Able to physically perform light lifting
Must be able to work various shifts and day
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice
Previous pharmacy experience preferred (one or more years of long-term care experience preferred)

May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, walk
May be necessary to work extended hours as needed

Holiday & PTO Policy: Paid holidays are provided annually, with 6 days offered each year, along with 5 sick days.
