Description The Patient Services Specialist (PSS) is the first point of contact to patients or visitors in person or by phone. This position plays a key role in maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service. Typical job skills include: Navigates multiple complex data systems to research and/or record patient information in person or by phone Operates multi-line telephone systems; routes calls and responds to general inquires. Registers patients; updates demographic and insurance information. Makes patient appointments and monitors appointment schedules . The Staffing Resource Department is a float pool of Patient Service Specialists which serves the PMG clinics in the Portland Metro area. You will serve patients seen in Primary Care, Pediatrics, Specialty Care and Urgent Care. If you are interested in a variety of clinical environments, the float pool is the place for you! Premium Float pay included May be eligible for mileage reimbursement Required Qualifications: 1 year of customer service experience or successful completion of Providence internship. Preferred Qualifications: 1 year of medical office or health care experience. Basic experience with electronic medical records and/or computerized billing systems. Medical terminology experience.
